Motorcyclist seriously injured in crash at Chula Vista intersection – The San Diego Union-Tribune

A 43-year-old motorcycle rider was seriously injured when his bike was struck by a vehicle in a Chula Vista intersection late Saturday morning, police said.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m., Chula Vista police started receiving multiple reports of a crash at intersection of Olympic Parkway and Windingwalk Street.

When police and fire personnel arrived at the scene they found the motorcycle rider lying unconscious. They gave him medical aid until the man could be taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries described as life threatening, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle — a 45-year-old man — stayed at the scene after the crash and was cooperating with the investigation. He, too, was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to be factors in the collision.

The Chula Vista Police Department’s Traffic Bureau is investigating the crash.
