Big Table receives $10K donation
San Diego’s Big Table, a local organization that helps restaurant and hospitality workers in need, was recently awarded a $10,000 donation from San Diego’s Mainline Insurance Services. Big Table helps provide care for all aspects of life and usually includes rental and utility assistance, as well as food security through gift cards for local grocery stores. The $10,000 donation will allow Big Table to provide food and housing for up to 120 people. The donation came about after Ramses Hernandez, a senior broker with Mainline Insurance, won a $5,000 donation for Big Table from Liberty Mutual and Safeco Insurance through their 2021 Make More Happen Awards. A story of the local partnership was posted internally, and Mainline Insurance was given the chance to raise another $5,000 by conducting a local awareness campaign for the nonprofit. With help from the community, the goal was met, doubling the donation to $10,000 for Big Table.
