Pharmacy services firm holds virtual job fair Wednesday
OptumRx, a pharmacy care services organization and one of the Optum companies of UnitedHealth Group, will host a virtual job fair to fill more than 30 combined pharmacy technician and pharmacy clerk positions. The new positions will support the needs of a growing member and client base. The virtual job fair will be held from 6 to 7:30 a.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday. Chamber’s Village Faire happening today
The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce’s largest community event, the Carlsbad Village Faire, takes place in a “special edition” from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today in the heart of Carlsbad Village (State Street and Grand Avenue). The event — a smaller version of the Spring/Fall Carlsbad Village Street Faire — features unique vendors with a little of everything: arts and crafts, antiques, unique clothing, items from around the world, a food court and more. Parking is limited, so visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttles that run to and from the fair every 15 minutes. Shuttle pickup locations are at the northwest corner of Sears at The Shoppes at Carlsbad (Highway 78 and Jefferson Street)

Union Bank is hosting a virtual panel Q&A for female small-business owners from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Registrar of Voters hiring site managers
The Registrar of Voters is seeking temporary site managers to operate an assigned in-person voting location for the Sept. 14 California Gubernatorial Recall Election. Site managers earn $20 per hour and work about 125 hours over a five-week period. For the upcoming election, in-person voting locations will be open for four days instead of one. The Registrar’s office will hire election workers rather than use volunteer poll workers, because training is more extensive for the expanded time period. Site managers will be required to train and lead election workers while representing the Registrar’s Office in a professional, nonpartisan manner. Applicants should be people who are team players, have strong leadership skills, and show flexibility, patience and the highest level of integrity at all times. Site managers must be able to work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on assigned workdays but may be required to work more than eight hours a day and will work some weekends. On Sept. 14, site managers must work from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Recommended personal protective equipment and sanitation supplies will be provided so workers can conduct the election process safely. PlanterSam hosts open house at new location
PlanterSam celebrates its new location in the Palomar Plaza Shopping Center at 700 S. Rancho Santa Fe Road, Suite C, with an open house at 10 a.m. Aug. 2. Owners Samira and Morteza Sadeghlou started PlanterSam during the COVID-19 pandemic, first selling arrangements on Instagram and then deciding to start a pop-up plant store. At the new space, PlanterSam sells everything from plants, pots and succulent arrangements to macramé, plant accessories and products from other small businesses.
