Our Group

The In-House Creative agency at Viasat is comprised of graphic designers, writers, web developers, motion graphic artists, video editors, and project managers. Our team strives for excellence in craft and strives to create work that can go head to head with design and advertising agencies.

We support a diverse organization with content to a wide variety of audiences, including multinational commercial airlines, individual home satellite internet users, and large government and defense clients with the goal to establish Viasat as the premier satellite internet provider in the world.

Our work goes beyond the typical corporate marketing video - we make unique and inspiring content that spans multiple areas across the company, including product promos, trade show booth videos, documentaries in remote villages abroad, and culture videos that help energize and engage our employees.

Job Role

Viasat is looking for a Marketing Video Content Creator to join our small, fun team of producers, shooters, editors, and animators.

The ideal candidate has a team-player mentality, great communication skills, and above all, a great attitude.

Your main job responsibilities will be shooting and editing marketing and brand-centered videos that help to highlight Viasat and show the world what we’re all about.

We use Canon cameras (C300mkII, 5DmkIV) and the Adobe CC suite, editing mainly in Premiere Pro. Experience with After Effects and 2D/3D motion graphics is a huge plus. While much of the work is in an office setting, we do have a lot of shoots, so you’ll need to be ready to shoulder up in a variety of environments!

 
Requirements
 
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in one or more of the following: Film/Video Production, Animation, Multimedia, Visual Arts or Communications.
• 2+ years of experience in Marketing/Video production field
• Video editing proficiency (Adobe Premiere Pro CC) 
• Camera/audio operation experience
• Knowledge of lighting design for video
• Keen storytelling abilities from pre-pro, to field, to post
• Video compression and web optimization best practices
• Ability to work as a team player, demonstrate adaptability, stay focused under pressure
• Ability to self-motivate
• International and domestic travel up to 25%
• U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Residence status
Must submit a reel/portfolio of work to be considered
 
 
Preferences
 
• Proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator
• Experience using Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
• Spanish and/or Portuguese language proficiency
• Docu-style shooting experience
• Camera equipment/tech experience
