Greenhaus Advertising of San Diego has been named the agency of record for Senior Resource Group (SRG) and Rise Communities. SRG owns and operates 32 senior living communities in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Washingtonand Texas. Each SRG community offers independent living, memory care and assisted living. Greenhaus said it will work on brand creative, web strategy, new community marketing and ongoing ad campaigns for SRG’s established properties and developing a comprehensive recruitment employment campaign across all markets.Also signing with Greenhaus is Rise Communities for their Cane Island development, a master-planned community in Katy, Tex. Opened in 2016, Cane Island is expected to feature more than 2,000 homes in various price ranges. Named after the 1872 settlement, the Cane Island master-planned community is approximately 35 miles from downtown Houston and easily accessible to many of the region’s business, industrial and retail centers. Greenhaus said it will oversee marketing for new phases at Cane Island, including community positioning, online and offline creative, development of a new website, SEO services, digital and traditional media services, social media marketing and new collateral.

San Diego Family Magazine has been named a media sponsor of The Rock Church’s 21st annual Toys of Joy from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9. The free toy, food and clothing giveaway will be held at four locations, including Lincoln High School, Southwest High School, San Marcos High School and El Cajon Valley High School. The event is free and open to all children and families in need. Children up to age 11 will receive a free toy and families will have the opportunity to receive free lunch, clothing, groceries and entertainment. Registration is not required. Church officials expect attendance to exceed 20,000 people. The public is invited to participate. Volunteers can sign up at www.toys-for-joy.org/volunteers. SDX member Rick Griffin, who writes the weekly media news column called “Flashes,” was recently selected for inclusion in San Diego Metropolitan Magazine’s “2017 Top Marketing Executives” list. The magazine said they received more than 100 nominations and 25 people were selected. Griffin’s bio and photo will appear in the December issue. Earlier this year, Griffin was selected for a lifetime achievement award in the fields of public relations and journalism from the San Diego Press Club.Griffin, a former newspaper reporter who has worked in PR since 1981, was the recipient of the 2017 Andy Mace Award for Outstanding Contributions in Public Relations. Griffin, a San Diego native who operates his own company, Rick Griffin Marketing Communications, is among 33 people in the PR profession in San Diego County who have received the career achievement award since the Press Club’s founding in 1973. The award is presented annually to a PR practitioner who, according to the Press Club, has exemplified fairness and integrity, as well as effectiveness in disseminating the truth to concerned publics over the course of their career.
